We have good knowledge that we have about one lakh hairs in our scalp and most people start thinking of their hair only after onset of some problems, when cosmetically it hinders them. Healthy hair is a sign which not only indicates healthy body but also reflects the persons lifestyle order, personality and psychological healthiness.

Knowing yourself and the factors that harm your hair will be the better solution than getting trapped or relying on billion dollar hair care industry products which target only on commercial achievement on the basis of symptomatic relief. Nature of hair varies with the body constituents. It’s primarily divided into three in accordance with the predominant dosha:

1)VATHA : Those having black, dry, curly, coarse hair with splitted hairshaft.

2)PITHA: Those having light brown, yelowish or reddish tint in the hair, premature greying, minimal hairs, vanishes too early than others.

3)KAPHA: Those having thick ,oily lustrous attractive hair.

Never take food when you haven’t urinated, during lack of appetite or prolonged fasting.

The diet, especially hard foods, should be properly chewed. Better avoid hard foods at nigt time.

Avoid taking water at least 15 minutes before having food.

The proper time for taking your dinner is approximately 2-3 hours before bed time.

Short walk after food, aids digestion.

While eating, only 1/3 rd of stomach capacity should be filled with food, 1/3rd must be liquid and 1/3rd should be left empty. This aids in proper digestion, gives room for air circulation in stomach and thus promotes mental clarity.

Siddha system advices to sip warm water along wth food that’s not chilled, as it nutralise jadaragni.
